- SaveILBM file documentation
-
- After searching Hi and Lo for this file, I finally found it.
- Here it is in all it's glory for your amusement and personal
- gratification.
-
- This is the legendary and elusive SaveILBM program. Now what
- this sucker will do is to allow you to save ANY (you read
- it right) Amiga screen to disk as an IFF format file. Hard
- to believe you say? Impossible you scoff? Burn the witch,
- you intone? Well, give it a try. It really works as you may
- observe by looking at the Boing! picture I uploaded here
- today. That is a picture of the Boing! demo screen. This
- should be proof that this is not evil voodoo gumbo magic.
-
- After downloading, file should be chopped or truncated to
- 19620 bytes. SaveILBM will need to be invoked by name from
- it's own CLI window. THIS IS A MUST! If done correctly,
- you'll then get some instructions on screen to follow and
- then stand back and give 'er room as great and mystical
- things are about to happen.
-
- Oh, when it asks for the screen you want to save as the
- "highest" screen, it does NOT mean the FRONT screen!!!
- It means that whichever screen is HIGHEST up on the
- monitor is the one that will be saved.
-
- Essentially then, you must get the picture displayed then
- be able to jump out to a CLI window. You will then invoke
- a new CLI window and call 'SaveILBM filename'. Instructions
- will tell you to then move the screen you want to save so
- that it is the highest on the monitor screen. You then click
- in the new CLI window and follow the instructions given.
-
- Integrity of the resultant IFF file may be tested with
- IFFCHECK and the files may be viewed with any of the
- popular viewing utilities and programs, including Deluxe
- Paint and Graphicraft.
